Richard Burgon To Stand For Labour Deputy Leader

LEEDS East MP Richard Burgon has announced he intends to stand to be Labour's deputy leader.

Writing on Twitter he said: "After a break and discussions with MPs and party members, I’m announcing that I'm standing to be Labour's Deputy Leader."

Mr Burgon, who is the Shadow Secretary of State for Justice and Shadow Lord Chancellor was re-elected earlier this month but saw his majority drop from 12,752 to 5,531.
