BORIS JOHNSON is to promise £5billion to ease the current crisis in social care, TBG can sensationally reveal.

Our Downing Street source says that the general election manifesto will include the pledge as a step towards overhauling the system.

The move is designed to make good on the Prime Minister pledge, made outside Downing Street on his first day in his job, to “end the injustice” of families being forced to sell property to pay for the soaring costs of caring for the elderly and disabled.

Health and Social Care Secretary Matt Hancock told TBG - “I feel deeply just how important the family home is to people who have worked hard in life deserve to be able to pass something on to their children.”

“So I am determined to end the injustice of people having to sell their home to pay for care.”
