Team Boris Hits Back At Cameron

TEAM Boris went on the offensive today after former PM David Cameron tried to publicise his book by accusing Boris of joining Vote Leave for political gain.

Stephen Barclay suggested Cameron had made the accusations because he had “a book to sell” and insisted Mr Johnson was a passionate Brexiteer.

“The Remain side was expected to win so the more prudent thing if someone is looking at their career would have been to back Remain.”

“Boris Johnson led the Leave campaign and he did so because he believes in Brexit.”

Cameron also says that when Leave campaigner Penny Mordaunt, the former defence secretary, said Britain would not be able to veto Turkey joining the EU, “we were no longer in the realms of stretching the truth. Leave was lying”.

So far Ms Mordaunt has refused to comment.
