Brexit Vote To Be Linked To Government Confidence

A senior government source has sensationally told TBG that the planned vote by MPs tomorrow on preventing a No Deal Brexit will be a confidence vote.

22 MPs are currently planning to rebel.

They were joined today by Guildford MP Anne Milton and Watford MP Richard Harrington.

TBG understands that if the government loses the vote then a General Election will be called and any rebels kicked out of the Conservative Party.

The build up is set to begin with a emergency Cabinet meeting at 4:45pm followed by a reception involving all Tory MPs this evening.

understands that MPs will discuss the attempt by rebels to take over the legislative agenda, potentially viewing it as expression of confidence in the government's negotiating position to secure an EU deal.

Another source has told TBG that independent MP Charlie Elphicke will support the government.
