Union Baron Len McCluskey Launches Attack on Labour Leadership.

THE LABOUR PARTY is in turmoil today and Len McCluskey has launched an astonishing attack on Labour Leader Ed Miliband.

The Unite baron tells today's Independent that he has lost faith in the Labour Party and has accused the Leadership of orchestrating a smear campaign.

McCluskey says - "I am obliged to uphold the integrity of Unite but I can no longer do this on the basis of activities in the Labour administration."

McCluskey branded the damning internal Labour investigation into the candidate selection process in Falkirk, which probably led to the resignation yesterday of Tom Watson, a "disgrace" and a "Stitch-up".

UPDATE: Labour At War

Chuka Umunna, the shadow business secretary, told the BBC: "We took advice from lawyers yesterday in relation to the Falkirk matter and as a result of the advice given have decided to refer it to the police."

Labour Leader Ed Miliband has been reported as saying - "Mr McCluskey should not be defending the machine politics involving bad practice and malpractice that went on there, he should be facing up to it."
