Tories selling Hutchings as Euro-sceptic in Eastleigh.

Polls suggests that the Eastleigh By Election could be the closest fought contest in years. The first poll a few days ago gave the Tories a slight lead but a new poll putts the Lib Dems ahead.

Conservatives South East Deputy Chairman Jim Fleming apparently thinks that it could all hinge on the issue that has dogged the Tories and the coalition for weeks - Europe.

UKIP are currently polling around 16%, that's pushing Labour into fourth spot. Word is that Fleming has spent the weekend trying to convince their supporters via social media that Conservative candidate Maria Hutchings is herself a Euro-sceptic and that if there was an in or out vote on polling day, she would vote to pull out.
