EXCLUSIVE: Tory Youth Leaders Face Calls to Resign Over Elliott Johnson Suicide.

CF Exec face Elliott Johnson (above) suicide backlash

THE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE of Conservative Future, the Tory youth wing, are facing calls to resign following allegations of a culture of bullying that led to the suicide of young Tory Elliott Johnson who was only 21 years of age.

Robert Porter, Deputy Area Chairman of Worcestershire CF tweeted, "If they don't, I'm going to resign, disgusted they lead us."

Another activist called Jenny tweeted, "The entire CF Exec ran on Mark Clarke's slate and have kept very schtum on these bullying allegations. It's disgusting."

One source said: "The likes of Ellie Vesey-Thompson, India Brummitt and Stephen Canning have been too close to Mark Clarke for too long. The idea they have a career in the youth movement, let alone as Parliamentary candidates is a fantasy.

"They were willing to get into bed with Clarke’s campaign in exchange for jobs in all different positions."

"If they have any decency they will quit before conference."

Of course they should go. Team Paterson was basically a RoadTrip slate. The whole lot should be disbanded and start again. They also have done precisely nothing since RoadTrip ended because they don't have any ideas of their own - no promised events, no promised constitutional change, no socials, not even any campaigning since May apart from that organised by other organisations. Say what you like about Howlett and Cooper. They are now in elected positions and when they were in charge there was stuff going on in CF.

How about Cooper? He is still heavily involved in CF, and was the chairman of CWF when all this was happening. You can't tell me he didn't even have an inkling this was going on!

Mark manipulated the last CF election. There was virtually no opposition candidates. Any decent candidates who thought about standing didn't because they were intimidated and bullied into not standing. The number of prominent CF'ers who have at various points operated alongside Mark is a disagrace

terrible wicked people but they won't be joining the candidates list anytime soon.

The most morally bankrupt executive ever.

Should probably let the coroners report and CCHQ investigation be completed first...

I'm usre no one wants to destroy people's repuations and gain politically from unsubstantiated rumours and gossip, or have we learnt nothing from Elliott's suicide?

Still waiting for all the MC sex scandals to come out... Oh I've heard some stories.

Think Springthorpe is the only one of the lot who didn't run on the Team Clarke slate in the last election

Make that 'ex' deputy area chairman- They didn't resign, so I did.

Luke Springthorpe and Isaac Duffy were the only two who were elected who weren't part of the slate- though Mark probably bullied a few of the other candidates into supporting him.

Unfortuantley for Springthorpe, he is now on the organising committee for CWF, who sacked Elliott...

I hope Springthorpe, or anyone supporting his CF chairman bid, isn't using the comments section of an article on the suicide of a 21 year old boy for their own political gain...

Duffy was part of the slate. A few RCs weren't but he wasn't one of them.

Clarke and Brummitt asked Springthorpe to join their slate at the croydon roadtrip. I was in the smoking area and saw when they did it. The whole team are Clarkes puppets.

Isaac Duffy said...

In response to the comment posted at 2:59pm by anonymous, I'd like to confirm that I wasn't part of the Roadtrip Slate. They did not field a candidate in the North East region.

If Clarke and Brummitt asked Springthorpe to join the slate and if he's therefore a Clarke 'puppet' as you state, why did Clarke & co back Charlotte Kude so vocally instead of Springthorpe in the election? Clearly a cheap attempt to smear Springthorpe

@4.45am... SJ is that you?

Anonymous said...

It doesn't matter if Springthorpe was on the RoadTrip Slate, he is now on the CWF Committee who are partly responsible for Elliott's death. A plague on all their houses.

What on earth are you on about? Luke stood against a MC slate candidate.
