EXCLUSIVE: S-J Sewell announces jobs first for CF.

Exclusive positions for CF members

In the first sneak peek at Sarah-Jane Sewell policy plans for her second term as Conservative Future Deputy Chairman (Membership) tbg can reveal a 'forum site' will be set up for members of the Tory Youth Brigade to enable access to top jobs & work experience places first.

The snippet from Sewells' eagerly awaited manifesto for 2013 reads:

"To form a Jobs/Internships/Work Experience Forum site to help members find positions available (and some positions exclusively first for CF members) with directly related individuals and organisations to help members build on their personal development and gain invaluable experience for their future."

The plan is a-part of Sarah's wide ranging manifesto set to take the Tory youth wing by storm.

Dominic wanted to do something like this last year. It seems a massive waste of time. We already have w4mp

Who in their right mind would want to use CF as a recruitment pool for anything other than AA?

Unimpressed CF said...

Whilst this initally sounds all well and good - I mean, who wouldn't want an easier route to securing a job? - Surely by creating a CF specific job bank it will add fuel to the fire that our party is creating an 'Old Boys Network'? Think about all the work in rebranding the image of CF to create a group that is accessible to all, this will be wiped away in one clear sweep by a shoddy attempt at trying to come up with a policy for a second term! Very unimpressed Sarah-Jane. If someone's credentials aren't good enough on their own merits that they need CF to give them a guaranteed route into a parliamentary role, then said individual clearly shouldn't be working in Parliament! It begs one to think if SJ really is revealing herself as a career conservative and nothing more.

Have to take issue with the last comment. This looks like an ingenuitive way of engaging young members, providing a useful service, and proactively tackling a prominent youth issue (unemployment). SJ doesn't seem to be proposing some 'jobs for the boys' bank but merely a way of helping members to develop skills. YBF run similar scemes, why shouldn't we?

Have to disagree with 'Unimpressed CF'. If anything, the absence of such a jobs banks within CF means it is far less open and transparent in its availability to the membership. Such a scheme could both encourage new members to join, as well as seeing that there is a tangible reward for those who give up their time volunteering for the party.

Which jobs? How many companies have been approached? Seriously! Instead of believing this BS why don't members practice some scepticism and ask basic question?
